Multi-stream server

01Problem

Five streamers needed to broadcast to six platforms at once, without paying for a third-party restream and without loading their own machines. New streamers had to fit in without a rebuild.

02What was done

1. 01Designed and wrote the restream server from scratch.
2. 02A control panel for broadcasts and a public stream page with a player and chat.
3. 03A platform that drops out comes back on its own; the streamer hears it from a notification while viewers are still none the wiser.
4. 04The server is deployed and locked down in production: access, backups, monitoring.

03Outcome

• One stream goes out to six platforms with no loss of quality.
• One platform falling over leaves the rest alone.
