Role
Network engineer: design, commissioning, operations
70+ sites online
5 federal highways
4 carriers with static IPs

01Problem

70+ sites along five federal highways, most of them with no wired internet. Each needed connectivity that holds, CCTV and intercoms — and all of it manageable from a distance, because nobody drives out to a highway to reboot a box.

02What was done

  1. 01Designed the remote site node: several carriers, with a fallback for when one of them disappears.
  2. 02Wrote the standard for how a site is deployed and how it is accepted.
  3. 03CCTV, recorders and IP intercoms pulled into one system.
  4. 04Kept a register of every site with the documentation for each node.
  5. 05Diagnostics and maintenance run remotely, across the whole fleet at once.

03Outcome

  • 70+ sites on five highways online and managed remotely.
  • A visit is needed only when hardware has physically failed.
  • A new site is commissioned to one standard, on a predictable schedule.

04Stack

  • MikroTik
  • LTE
  • Trassir
  • IP CCTV
  • SIP
